Primary Objectives:

This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Operations, and is a part of Whitefield Academy's Facilities and Grounds department. This maintenance staff member will be responsible for repairs to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment, preventative maintenance programming, painting, and carpentry and also be responsible for completing issue trackers (work orders) in a timely manner.



  • Safely work to repair the school's mechanical systems by using both power and hand tools
  • Complete preventative maintenance checklists and carry out all associated repairs
  • Utilize the school's maintenance work order program
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC issues
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces
  • Utilize carpentry skills to repair cabinetry, doors, hardware, sheetrock, and other surfaces
  • Must be able to stand or walk for eight hours a day, frequently lift items of 50 pounds, climb, stoop, bend, kneel and reach
  • Report all unsafe conditions to the Director of Facilities and Operations
  • Assist other maintenance/grounds staff with all job related tasks
  • Effectively communicate with other faculty and staff, both in written and verbal forms
  • Uphold the values that are consistent with the mission of the school
  • Other duties as requested by administration


Key Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, basic Excel, email)
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and/or in a team environment
  • Able to work in an environment that includes chemicals, dust, fumes, odors, and working in hot and cold temperatures
  • A valid Georgia driver's license



  • 7 a.m. 3 p.m. Monday Friday, and some Saturdays
  • May need to work late during special or sporting events



  • Compensation will be discussed during the interview process
